The glorious power of the blood of Jesus has provided everything we need to live a life of victory!
As Christians, we talk about the blood, sing songs about the blood, and remember it during Communion. But do we truly grasp how powerful the blood of Jesus really is, and are we applying it in our lives every day?
Throughout the scriptures, we see a theme of the shedding of blood. The sacrifices of Abel, Noah and Isaac, and the Passover lamb, and the giving of the Law all came to pass, but “not without blood” (Hebrews 9:7). The blood symbolizes cleansing and purification—the settling of a matter.
The blood of Jesus is God's liquid love! Because of the blood of Jesus that was shed for the remission of our sins we have eternal life now and in heaven, physical healing, prosperity, peace, and so much more! God's great love covers every need we will ever have, and every time we apply the blood, we experience an outpouring of this love. It's love, through the blood, that has created a barrier between you and all the works of the devil.
I want to share some powerful realities about what the glorious blood of Jesus has provided for us:
We Have Redemption Through the Blood of Jesus
“We have redemption through His blood.” –Ephesians 1:7
In the garden Satan came to Eve, and deceived her into disobeying God and eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam followed Eve's lead and disobeyed God. Adam turned over the authority that God had given him over the earth and thus made Satan the illegitimate ruler of the earth.
From that day on—everything was different. Because of one sin, death was passed on to all men (Romans 5:12). The earth and everything in it was suddenly cursed with spiritual death and man was spiritually dead and separated from God because of sin.
God had a plan of redemption.
His plan of Redemption was the same as it was for Abel, Moses and Noah—it would be through the shedding of blood. Someone might ask; why blood? The answer is because there is life in the blood. God's eternal redemption for mankind, for eternity, could not be accomplished through the blood of animals which could only cover sin. Redemption of this magnitude required a much greater sacrifice—the blood of His Son—Jesus, which would not only cover sin, but totally remove it!
The blood of Jesus has the power to wash all of our sin away and make us clean and pure in the sight of God. From the second you receive Jesus as your Lord, God will no longer remember your sins (Hebrews 8:12). HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?!
We don’t have to try and earn and pay for what has been provided on the Cross. We can simply accept and enjoy this free gift of salvation!
In addition to being redeemed from sin, the blood also set us free from the curse of the law so that THE BLESSING of Abraham might come upon us in Christ (Galatians 3:13).
The curse is death, sin, sickness, disease, poverty, lack, depression—anything bad you can think of. Adam’s treason gave Satan authority over the life of man, but because of the power of the blood of Jesus, the moment you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, the power of sin was BROKEN and you were redeemed from the curse and Satan lost ALL legal power in your life!
We Have Fellowship With God Through the Blood of Jesus
“Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus.” –Hebrews 10:19
When we talk about fellowship— we are talking about a close friendship. The blood of Jesus paid the price for us to come into the presence of God who is now our heavenly father and fellowship with him.
Before Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they enjoyed a sweet fellowship with God. After the fall, sin separated us from this precious fellowship, and the only thing that could restore this fellowship was the blood of Jesus. When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the door to the throne room of God is opened to you and you have an open invitation to come in and fellowship with your Heavenly Father.
Another word for fellowship is communion. One way we recognize that the blood provided for fellowship with God is through the taking of Communion. Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). That’s why Communion is much deeper than a religious thing we do—it’s a recognition of (and fellowship with) what God did for us through the blood of Jesus. You are God's child and friend (John 15:15)!
We Have Physical Healing Through the Blood of Jesus
“By His stripes we are healed.” –Isaiah 53:5
When we take Communion, it's only to remember the price paid for our sin debt, but it's also to remember the price paid for our physical healing. Thank God for the blood of Jesus!
In Isaiah 53:4-5, we see that Jesus’ sacrifice covered every area of man’s existence. He bore spiritual torment for our sins, intense mental distress for our worry, care, sorrow and fear, as well as being beaten with whips for our sickness and disease. The stripes He bore and the blood He shed was for our healing. By His stripes we are healed.
If you don't receive the full revelation of the power of Jesus' blood in your life, you'll be missing out and not walking in everything that Jesus provided for you.
You don’t need to pay for anything and get a prescription, or pop some pill, all you need is the gospel! Jesus provided it all through His blood! You can appropriate the blood of Jesus for your healing today by faith.
We Have Protection Through the Blood of Jesus
“When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” –Exodus 12:13
In Exodus, we see that Pharaoh was stubborn and wouldn't let God’s people go. So, God sent a plague of judgment—to “smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt” (Exodus 12:12). Satan knew the children of Israel had broken God's covenant and were due judgment. God could protect them, but “not without blood.” They had a blood covenant relationship with God through Abraham, but they needed to stand in that covenant. They needed to choose the blood covenant over the curse.
God instructed them the Israelites take the blood of a lamb and apply to their doorposts. When the angel of death came to destroy them, he passed by because he saw the blood. The blood of these lambs spoke of the blood of THE Lamb (Jesus) who was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).
The glorious power of the blood of the Jesus is infinite in power. When we walk in the light of the truth of God's word and access the power of the blood of Jesus we will walk in victory in every area of our lives. You are redeemed, healed, prosperous, and victorious today!
