The Power Of Faith
By: Daniel Adams

Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly." If you are a child of God, then your heavenly father has made a way for you to live an abundant life of heaven on earth. We should never settle for less than what Jesus has provided through the finished work of redemption. The Word of God makes it clear that we receive from the Lord by faith and that true faith based upon God's word brings results every time. In this writing I want to share with you on the subject the power of faith, we will define what faith is, the voice of faith, and look at how faith is the doorway to the supernatural.

Faith Defined

(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. If we are going to operate in faith then we have to understand what faith is. The Greek word for faith is the word Pistis, it means to be persuaded. Faith always has the element of assurance, certainty and confidence. Hebrews 11:1 says, "faith is the substance of things hoped for." You could say that hope is the blueprint of faith. Without hope, faith has nothing to give substance to. With this understanding we should have great hopes and dreams. Also, not only shoud we have great hopes and dreams, but we need to continually allow God to expand our vision through his Word. There are no dreams to small, because there are no limits with him. What are your God-inspired dreams? The bible says to write the vision down and make it plain. I want to encourage you to take time to write you God-inspired dreams down and keep them before you. Remember, your hopes and dreams are the blueprint of your future. Before you ever build up, you first have to dig down. However strong the foundation is, is how high the structure will be able to be built. You may not be where God is taking you, but your hope is the blueprint and your faith is the evidence that will bring it to pass.

Faith Has a Voice

(Romans 4:17-22) 17(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: 20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. God has given us an example in Romans 4:17 of how to develop a strong faith. If you are going to develop a strong faith then you have to call things that do not exist as though they did. In the beginning, God spoke the entire creation into existence. The bible says that we are made in his image. God said "light be" and light was. God gives life and he calls things into existence. Through the operation of faith we can do the same thing. Abraham and Sarah were dead in their natural ability to conceive a child. Yet what appears to be without life can be restored to life, and what doesn't exist can be restored to life. We must get a revelation of the principle of faiths confession in order to live a victorious Christian life. According to Romans 10:9-10 you can't become a born again child of God without faiths confession. Faith in your heart and confession of that faith is the operation through which all of God blessings come. Confession is calling forth the desired outcome. It is reaching into the unlimited resources of God's grace and bringing the desire outcome. As a joint heir with Jesus Christ you have (past tense) been blessed with every spiritual blessing. Faith is how to manifest those blessings into your life. Faith comes by hearing the Word and faith is released by speaking the Word. (Joshua 1:8) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Faith is the Doorway to the Supernatural

(Mark 9:23) Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Faith make all things possible. When you read through the gospels you will find Jesus doing things that seem impossible to the natural mind. He walked on water, turned water into wine, fed over 5000 people with a little boys lunch and many other supernatural miracles. The supernatural was so evident in his life that John says, "if all the miracles were written down all the books in the world would not be able to contain them." We must remember that everything Jesus did, he did as a man anointed by the Holy Spirit, through the operation of faith. Your faith has the power to change things. The power of faith is the power to step into the abundant supernatural life that Jesus has come to provide for you. (Hebrews 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Faith Is The Atmosphere That God Operates In

"…he who comes to God must believe that He is" (Hebrews 11:6). Every day we have a choice to either live by faith or to live by what our 5 senses are telling us. We will either walk by sight or we will walk by faith. If we walk by how we feel and by what the world around us is speaking, then we will live in defeat, lack, and fear. Walking by faith is often the opposite of what "sight" is telling us. If we are going to live a victorious overcoming life then we have to choose to live according to the principles found in the Word of God. Truth overrides facts and God's Word is truth. I want to encourage you today to fill your heart with God's Word, to speak God's Word out of your mouth, and to act on God's Word. As you allow God's Word to be the final authority in your life you will step into the superabundant life that the Lord has provided for you! (Mark 11:23) For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
